CUET EXAM PATTERN
By offering a single, standardized exam for multiple universities, CUET simplifies the admission process, reduces regional disparities, and ensures a level playing field for all applicants.
Its very important to understand the examination Scheme of CUET.
Exam Mode
CUET (UG) will be conducted in Hybrid mode (Pen & Paper/ Computer Based Test (CBT) mode.
Papers which have high applications like CUET English, General Test, Science subjects can be held in Pen & Paper Mode
Medium of Examination
Can be taken in any of 13 languages : Assamese, Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Punjabi, Odia, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu
NB: The option of language for Question Paper should be exercised while filling up the Application Form online and it cannot be changed at a later stage.
The Pattern of Question Paper: Objective type Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).
Choice of Test Paper
There is a total of 61 subjects (33 languages, 27 domain-specific, and 01 General Test)
- Languages: Language comprehension and writing skills.
- Domain Specific: Specific subjects related to the course (e.g., Physics, Chemistry, History, etc.)
- General Test: General knowledge, current affairs, logical reasoning
From this they can select a maximum of 06 Test papers (04 or 05 domain subjects including General Test and 01 or 02 languages).
This depends on the aspired universities and courses
Its not mandatory that 6 subjects be selected
For Example :
- To get admission for BCOM (Hons) in Delhi University you need to select Language + Mathematics/Applied Mathematics/ Accountancy/Book Keeping + Any two Plus Two Subject.
- While in Pondicherry Central University you need to select only Accountancy for 4 Year B.Com.(Hons).
- But in Central University of Andhra Pradesh you just need General Test for BCOM.
Total Questions
General Test: Total of 60 questions from that 50 questions be attended. (First 50 will only be evaluated) – Time: 60 minutes
Domain Papers and Languages: 40 out of 50 Questions to attended (First 40 will only evaluated) – Duration for all test papers would be 45 minutes except for Mathematics/Applied Mathematics, Accountancy, Physics, Chemistry, Economics, Computer Science/Informatics Practices, which would be 60 minutes.
Marking Scheme
For correct answer: 5 marks
For Wrong answer: -1 mark
Unattempt Questions: 0 mark
