1. West Bank
- West Bank is a landlocked territory in West Asia.
- The West Bank is sandwiched between Israel and Jordan.
- It was captured by Jordan after the Arab-Israeli War (1948) but Israel snatched it back during the Six-Day War of 1967 and has occupied it ever since.
- One of its major cities is Ramallah, the de facto administrative capital of Palestine.
2. COP29
- The 29th U.N. Climate Change Conference, or COP29, has commenced in Baku, Azerbaijan. Called as the "Finance COP”
- COP-29 has placed a renewed emphasis on climate finance, aiming to close the funding gaps required for both mitigation and adaptation measures, especially in developing countries.
- COP, or Conference of Parties, is the annual meeting of the members of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) — an international agreement, signed in 1992, that has provided a basis for climate negotiations.
