- Observed to bring together the world to increase awareness about cancer and support in its treatment, diagnosis and prevention.
- The day is organised by the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC)
- World Cancer Day 2025 Theme is “United by Unique”
- National Cancer Awareness Day (India) is on November 7th
World Wetland Day 2025
- It is observed annually on February 2
- To raise awareness about the importance of wetlands in supporting biodiversity, human well-being, and cultural heritage.
- World Wetland Day 2025 theme is “Protecting Wetlands for our Common Future”.
World Leprosy Day
- In India, World Leprosy Day is observed on 30 January, marking the death anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and Globally (last Sunday of January).
- It is caused by the bacterium Mycobacterium leprae.
- Theme 2025: “Unite. Act. Eliminate”.
- It is also known as Hansen’s Disease, which affects the skin, nerves, eyes, and upper respiratory system.
